Rev Kobi D. Robertson

Pastor of St Paul Institutional Baptist Church

 

Rev Kobi D. Robertson is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. He has graduated from Southwestern Senior High School, attended Catonsville

Community College of Baltimore County for Mortuary Science, United Baptist College & Seminary, and Arlington College & Seminary. 

Currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology Virginia Union University

 

Rev. Robertson grew up in the Mount Moriah Baptist Church under the pastorship of the late

Rev. Dr. Arthur J. Benn. It was at Mount Moriah that Rev. Robertson accepted the Lord Jesus the

Christ as his Personal Savior and call to Gospel Ministry. The following awards have been

received: Outstanding Member & Outstanding Youth Awards at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and

Honored by the United Missionary Baptist Convention. Member of the Adult Class # 3 in the

Sunday school. Prior to being licensed to preach was an active member of the Benn’s Chorale

Ensemble, Junior Male Chorus, and Junior Usher Board.

 

On Friday, October 31, 1997, Rev. Robertson preached his initial sermon and ever since, has

been exemplifying Matthew 28: 19 – 20 by spreading The Great Commission, “Go ye therefore,

and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy

Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am

with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Regular Mid Week preacher for Mt. Moriah

Baptist Church. Preached in several states including VA, NC, and Delaware. First Associate

Minister to preach Annual Men’s & Women’s Day. Member of the Hampton’s Minister’s

Musician Conference, National Baptist Congress, Eastern Regional of the United Missionary

Baptist Convention, attended Pastor’s & Lay Member’s Conference in Bahamas, Teacher &

Lecturer for Youth Retreats for various Churches

 

Rev. Robertson was installed as Youth Minister in February, 2005, under the leadership of Pastor

Stephen M. Smith. Under his leadership, the ministry became more fruitful and spiritual

rewarding. He placed a ministry theme which states “We are a Chosen Generation that exists

to expose Youth & Young Adults to God’s love, equipping them to exalt God, enjoy other

believers, and experience to work of the ministry” 1 Peter 2:9; 1:12-23. Rev. Robertson also

served on the 1st Christian Education Board of Mt. Moriah under Pastor Smith.

On April 6, 2002, Rev. Robertson married the former LaToya A. Cutts. They are blessed and

proud parents of two handsome sons, Dazuruis Journe’ and Khayri Charles.

 

Rev. Robertson was elected as Pastor of St. Paul Institutional Baptist Church on October 26,

2011. He has adopted his motto from his grandmother whom planted a seed of wisdom which is:

“if I can help somebody as I pass along, if I can cheer somebody with a word or song, if I can

show somebody they’re traveling wrong, then my living shall not be in vain, if I can do my

duty as a Christian ought, if I can bring back beauty to a world up wrought, if I can spread

love’s message that the Master taught, then my living shall not be in vain.”
